Each year, volunteers dedicate hundreds of hours working with Calypso’s educational programs and helping out on the farm. We could not do this work without the support of these members of our community. Calypso welcomes volunteers of all ages. We’d love to have you join us!
The Youth Leadership Program is a fun way for teens to gain leadership skills while volunteering as junior counselors for Farm Camps and Pearl Creek School Garden Camps! Teens will have the opportunity to develop hands-on leadership and teamwork skills while assisting with camp activities and helping younger children.
Requirements for Eligibility:
- 12-15 years old
- Can commit to working up to a 35-40 hour work week for one week out of the summer (possibility of more camp sessions depending on interest and availability)
- Interested in working with and mentoring youth
- Have a ride to and from Calypso Farm or Pearl Creek School on your scheduled week(s)

The Farm Discovery Program is an educational volunteer program for all ages! You'll learn all about the farm and surrounding boreal forest during a free training session and then share what you've learned by volunteering as a Farm Discovery Guide during field trips and community events.
Registration is open now for 2023 training sessions! Note: You must attend one full 3.5 hour training to become a Guide!
Option #1: Tuesday, April 18th | 8:30am-noon
Option #2: Thursday, April 20th | 8:30am-noon
Additional sessions for Sheep & Wool training are available and will prepare you to help with our fiber arts field trips:
Option #1: Wednesday, April 19th | 9am-11am

We're looking for youth volunteers ages 10-12 to help run the Pearl Creek Farm Stand this summer! Youth Farm Stand Volunteers will help harvest veggies from the garden each week, set up the Farm Stand and sell fresh produce to the neighborhood every Thursday.
Location: Pearl Creek Elementary School Garden
Ages: 10-12
Dates: Thursdays, 2-6pm | June 15 through August 10 (excluding July 20)*
*We're looking for volunteers who want to help out the entire summer but they do not need to be available every single week!

Additional volunteer opportunities for youth and adults include volunteering at public events, working in the field, assisting with building projects, and helping with our education programs.
