PAY WHAT YOU CAN: Calypso’s “Pay What You Can” initiative is designed to support our friends and neighbors in need. Summer Camp registration is available on a Pay What You Can basis, up to 50% off. The funds available for Pay What You Can discounts are limited and it is our hope that those who need it most will be able to benefit. COVID-19 INFORMATION: We will continue to practice COVID-19 safety precautions at all of our in-person programming this season, including summer camps. This includes:
- Practicing social distancing and emphasizing small group activities. Students will spend most of their time at camp in a group of 5-6 other students plus 1-2 staff members.
- Holding all camp activities outside or in well-ventilated areas (such as under tents).
- Limiting camp enrollment to 15 students or less, per session.
- Encouraging frequent hand washing or sanitizing by all campers and staff.
- Cleaning and sanitizing camp materials and spaces in between sessions.
- All staff and participants ages 5+ who can safely wear a mask per CDC guidance will be required to wear a face mask during our programs, except during designated breaks and eating times.
Click here for more information on how Calypso is determining risk levels and appropriate mitigation measures. As the COVID-19 pandemic is a continually evolving situation and our highest priority is keeping our community safe, we will do our best to communicate with camp families throughout the spring and summer to let you know of any changes to our programs or policies. We’re excited to welcome campers back on the farm this summer and thank you in advance for your understanding!
A NOTE ON SUMMER VACATIONS: As you are planning your summer, please keep in mind that a mandatory quarantine is still in effect for people traveling into Alaska from out of state. Out of respect for our staff, campers, and our community, we expect camp families to adhere to these guidelines when making summer plans around camp dates. If your summer includes out of state travel, please make plans to complete your full quarantine before sending your kids to camp. Thank you!
SUMMER CAMP CANCELLATION POLICY: Despite our best efforts to ensure a safe reopening of the Farm, we know that COVID-19 will continue to impact and challenge us all. While we are so excited to resume camps, if you have strong concerns about the risk to the health and safety of your family, please err on the side of caution and wait until Summer 2022 to have your child(ren) attend camp.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is included in the cost of all camps. For cancellations made at least 30 days prior to the start of camp, a full refund will be given, minus the non-refundable deposit.
Should COVID-19 or any other circumstances require you to cancel your camp registration less than 30 days prior to the start of camp, the following options will be available:
- Camp Credit: Registration fees can be applied to any future summer camp in 2022.
- Donation: Registration fees can be turned into a tax-deductible donation and will directly support the development, operation, and sustainability of our education programs.
