Launched in 2015, the Southside Market is a friendly, community-focused farmer's market offering local vegetables, eggs, bread, meat & other farm-based goods from farmers, bakers & food makers.

Location: Southside Market is located in the South Cushman neighborhood of Fairbanks, at the corner of 24th Ave & Rickert Street, on the lawn of the South Fairbanks Assembly of God Church.
The nearest bus stops are 24th and S. Cushman (Green & Purple Lines), 23rd and Bjerrmark (Purple Line), or 23rd and Mercier (Purple Line).
Dogs: Leashed service dogs are welcome, however, we otherwise have a strict no dogs policy at the market.
Food Benefits: We accept food stamps (SNAP) market-wide and host many vendors who accept WIC and Senior Farmers Market Benefits. For more information on how to obtain food benefits through the State of Alaska:

These healthy, locally-sourced meals are prepared by professional chefs & are always free and open to all! Whether you're a market customer, Southside neighborhood resident, or just in need of a good meal & good company, please join us for a Community Meal this summer!
Our hope through Community Meals is to dismantle barriers to food resources and support our customers, farmers and neighborhood residents by providing nutritious, simple meals that showcase local foods.
We're looking for local chefs to assist with Community Meals in 2026!
The goal of Community Meals is to provide our customers and community members with delicious meals that use fresh, local ingredients and are easy to replicate at home with simple recipes.
There are many ways local chefs can get involved, from assisting Bread Line's Chef Liann in preparing a meal one week or taking on part of meal, all the way to planning and cooking an entire Community Meal.
Interested chefs should be experienced in cooking for 300 people, preparing recipes that emphasize seasonally available vegetables and other farm products, and limit the use of other ingredients to basic pantry staples or those that are easy to find and inexpensive to purchase at the grocery store.

Community Meals needs community support to continue into the future!
The Community Meals program was previously funded by the USDA’s Local Food Purchasing Agreement program which supported Fairbanks farmers and provided critical food relief for vulnerable Alaskans. In March of 2025, this federal funding was cut.
Calypso, Bread Line and Southside Market are committed to continuing to offer Community Meals & need your help to do it! Give today to support Community Meals & keep this program growing! 100% of your donation will go to purchasing local foods from local producers & the labor of creating the meals.
Kid's Market Applications Open Now!
We're looking for young farmers, gardeners and bakers to participate in our first annual Kid’s Market, happening on Family Day - Tuesday, August 4th from 4:00-6:30pm!
Allowed Products: Kids may sell fresh food & farm products that they have made themselves or had a hand in making, growing, harvesting, etc. Some ideas include baked goods, veggies, herbs, eggs, honey, meat, fish, bread, fresh-cut flowers and other products made using locally grown/raised ingredients. No hot prepared food or crafts.

Thank you for your interest in selling at the Southside Community Farmers Market!
Market Information: Southside Market is held on Tuesdays from 4:00-6:30pm, at 24th Avenue and Rickert Street. The Market is rain or shine from June through the end of September, however, you do not have to attend every week if you are unable to.
We ask vendors to be set up and ready to sell no later than 3:45pm and to remain set up until 6:30pm (unless you completely sell out before that time). Vendors are responsible for all of their own supplies for their booth space, including but not limited to an EZ-up and weights, table, tablecloths, etc.
Products: Vendors may sell fresh food & farm products such as...
- vegetables and herbs
- meat
- eggs
- honey
- bread
- fresh-cut flowers
- other products made using locally grown/raised ingredients
- No hot prepared food, crafts or products made without locally grown/raised ingredients
Vendor Fee: 5% of your daily sales
Business License & Insurance: All vendors must have an Alaska State Business License, as well as a Fairbanks City Business License for selling within the city limits. If you need help applying for a business license, please let us know!
All vendors must carry a general liability insurance policy, with Southside Community Farmers Market listed as an additional insured. If you don’t have insurance and would like help figuring out options, let us know. Food Liability Insurance Program (FLIP) is a good option that many of our vendors use. For those vendors who have homeowner's insurance, there are also possibilities that you can add your general liability to that policy as well.
