Rigid Heddle Weaving Workshop

Two-Day Workshop:
March 21 & 22 | 1-4pm
Location: Calypso Farm

Rigid heddle looms are simple, compact and portable. Weaving on one of these wonderful little looms can be a great way to learn about weaving and can even be a useful tool for more experienced weavers to sample new techniques.

In this class, we’ll start with warping the loom and learning basic plain weave. On the second day, we’ll have fun with waffle weave, honeycomb and even lace techniques. Participants will complete a lovely sampler that can be used decoratively around the house or as a scarf to wear proudly!

No experience is necessary and class participants with more weaving experience will have the opportunity to expand further into different weaves and use of color. Class handouts will include instructions for further exploration on your own.

If you have your own handspun yarn or fun bits from your yarn stash, you are welcome to bring those! Small pieces left over from bigger knitting projects work really well in this piece!
