12-3pm
Location: Calypso Farm Smithy
The Blacksmithing Overview workshop is a prerequisite for this class.
This two-day class will introduce you to the world of knife making! We’ll explore the properties of tool steel and learn everything from how to draw out knife blanks from tool steel round stock to the processes of annealing, hardening and tempering. Then it is on to sharpening and dressing the knife.
This style of knife (blade and handle all in one) is simple and beautiful. The Viking women supposedly wore these as utility knives from their tunics.
