Community Hats are easy & quick to make and they are cozy & warm! This pattern for a simple crochet hat is very flexible – no two hats are the same! A bulky weight yarn and crochet hook L (8 mm) works up very quickly but you can use any weight of yarn and hook size. The number of increase rows will vary with the weight of yarn.
This pattern was designed for approximately 125 yards of bulky weight yarn and is perfect for using up scrap yarn.
About the Community Hat: This is a project inspired by the work that Bread Line does for our community. This pattern is available for free and we encourage you to gift this hat to someone who could use some warmth throughout our cold winters. You can drop off hats at Bread Line or at Calypso and we’ll deliver it for you. If you deliver it yourself, let us know – we’ll keep track of how many hats get into the community!
