Calypso Explorer’s Club

Explore! Discover! Investigate!

The Calypso Explorer’s Club is a fun, 12 month activity kit subscription perfect for outdoor learning as a family! Each month from January-December, you will receive a new, hands-on activity for kids to explore. Activities are seasonally based for Alaska and range from animal tracking and making a bird feeder, to planting seeds and crafting with Calypso wool!

Activities are designed to be engaging for kids ages 5-10 but can also be done as a whole family. Some activities may require more adult assistance than others.

Please note: We suggest that this subscription is PER CHILD. While activities can definitely be done as a whole family, each kit will come with enough supplies for 1 child at a time to do the activity (for example: one magnifying glass, one net for aquatic insects, one needle felting needle, etc.).

What You’ll Receive Each Month:

  • Activity Directions for that month’s activity. It could be directions for a craft or science experiment, an activity to do outdoors, or a recipe to try with local ingredients!
  • Supplies to get you started on that month’s activity! This might be something like a nature journal or a magnifying glass to enhance your exploration or specific materials called for in an activity. NOTE: For some projects (such as making bird feeders) a material like birdseed will be provided and you will need to find other basic materials around your home, like a toilet paper tube and peanut butter. For some months with more involved craft activities (such as wool crafts) all essential supplies will be provided.
  • A fun sticker badge that kids earn when they complete the activity! There are 12 different badges that kids can collect throughout the year!
