Farm Field Trips

Calypso’s field trips provide fun, interactive educational experiences with Alaskan farming, boreal forest ecology, and folk arts.

Now scheduling for 2021!

Due to COVID-19, we are limiting the size of field trip groups during the 2021 season to a maximum of 12 participants per group. We may be able to accommodate larger groups under certain circumstances - please get in touch with us below!

Click here for more information on how Calypso is approaching the reintroduction of on-farm programs, including the safety precautions we are taking to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

Our seasonal, place-based learning experiences can be geared toward students of all ages and interests. Whether you are interested in local boreal ecology, gardening and food production, animal husbandry, aquatic invertebrates, fiber and nature arts, any other aspect connected to our web of life, there’s something to explore and learn at Calypso.

We can cater to a large variety of subjects and grade levels. Feel free to contact us about creating customized field trips to fit into your educational curriculum!

During the 2021 season, we are primarily offering field trips to small groups of 6-12, keeping a 6:1 student to staff ratio for all field trips. We also require 1 adult chaperone to attend per 6 students. If you have a group larger than 12, please let us know - we may be able to accommodate larger groups. We encourage families, homeschool pods, community groups, and childcare facilities to take advantage of this unique opportunity for small, individualized field trips!

The funds available for Pay What You Can discounts are limited and it is our hope that those who need it most will be able to benefit. We ask that you keep the broader community in mind and if you’re able to pay in full, please do - your extra dollars will support someone who is unable to.
