Calypso’s field trips provide fun, interactive educational experiences with Alaskan farming, boreal forest ecology, and folk arts.
Now scheduling for 2021!
Due to COVID-19, we are limiting the size of field trip groups during the 2021 season to a maximum of 12 participants per group and are not scheduling larger school groups at this time. We will reevaluate the possibility of large school-group field trips at a later date.
Our seasonal, place-based learning experiences can be geared toward students of all ages and interests. Whether you are interested in local boreal ecology, gardening and food production, animal husbandry, aquatic invertebrates, fiber and nature arts, any other aspect connected to our web of life, there’s something to explore and learn at Calypso.
We can cater to a large variety of subjects and grade levels. Feel free to contact us about creating customized field trips to fit into your educational curriculum!

PAY WHAT YOU CAN: Calypso’s “Pay What You Can” initiative is designed to support our friends and neighbors in need. Field Trips are available on a Pay What You Can basis, up to 50% off. The funds available for Pay What You Can discounts are limited and it is our hope that those who need it most will be able to benefit. We ask that you keep the broader community in mind and if you’re able to pay in full, please do - your extra dollars will support someone who is unable to.
