Calypso’s field trips provide fun, interactive educational experiences with Alaskan farming, boreal forest ecology, and folk arts.
Due to COVID-19, we will not be holding any on-farm field trips during the 2020 spring and summer seasons. We will reevaluate the possibility of fall field trips at a later date. If you're looking for fun & educational activities for kids, check out our at-home Calypso Activity Kits!
Our seasonal, place-based learning experiences can be geared toward students of all ages and interests. Whether you are interested in local boreal ecology, gardening and food production, animal husbandry, aquatic invertebrates, fiber and nature arts, any other aspect connected to our web of life, there’s something to explore and learn at Calypso.

We can cater to a large variety of subjects and grade levels. Feel free to contact us about creating customized field trips to fit into your educational curriculum. A minimum of 8 students is required for all field trips. We ask for one chaperone per 8 students. There is no charge for these chaperones, but if additional adults attend, they will be asked to pay the student price. Ask about our sliding scale! We want our field trips to be accessible to everyone.
Want to get involved? Dozens of community volunteers lead groups of children on field trips as farm guides! Click here to learn more about how to become a farm guide through our Farm Discovery Program.
