Farm Field Trips

Calypso’s field trips provide students a chance to experience life on the farm through fun, hands-on activities involving Alaskan farming, boreal forest ecology, and folk arts.

Now scheduling for 2022!

Our seasonal, place-based field trips can be geared toward students of all ages and interests. Whether your group is interested in local boreal ecology, gardening and food production, animal husbandry, aquatic invertebrates, fiber and nature arts, or any other aspect connected to our web of life, there’s something to explore and learn at Calypso!

We can cater to a large variety of subjects and grade levels. Feel free to contact us about creating customized field trips to fit into your educational curriculum!

In 2022, we hope to phase back in larger-group school field trips for students in Pre-K through 12th Grade! Teachers are encouraged to get in touch! We will also still be offering small-group field trips throughout the season, perfect for homeschool groups, families, childcare facilities, community groups, and more.

Schedule a Field Trip!

Let us know you're interested in visiting the farm on a field trip by completing the form below. After we receive your form, we will be in touch to schedule!

Please make note of our current covid-19 policies for field trips, found below this form.

  • Please note: we require at least 1 adult chaperone to attend per 8 youth participants.
  • If selecting Taste Testing or Wood-Fired Pizza, please select at least one other alternate choice as we may or may not be offering those two themes in 2022.
COVID-19 INFORMATION: All participants will be required to wear a well-fitting mask during spring Field Trips (this includes students and chaperones). Participants will move through a number of indoor and outdoor stations during their visit, often in quick succession. While masking will be most strictly enforced indoors, for the ease of group transitions and the fact that social distancing will be difficult, we ask that participants wear a mask for the duration of the field trip. We will reassess this policy when we enter our summer Field Trip season at the end of the school year and communicate with group leaders about any changes.
