Community Roots Program

Applications will be accepted March 1 - April 30. We encourage you to apply early! 

Please be sure you've read through the job description prior to applying.

Preference will be given to applicants who live in the South Fairbanks neighborhood, have previously attended Hunter Elementary School, and who are between the ages of 16-24, however, all applications will be considered! Black, Indigenous and people of color are encouraged to apply!

  • Preference will be given to those ages 16-24, however, we will consider applications from people outside of that age range.
  • Preference will be given to those who currently live in the South Fairbanks area or have previously attended Hunter Elementary, however, all Fairbanks residents are welcome to apply!
  • Resume should include past work experience, education, academic or training programs, extracurricular activities, volunteer work, scholarships received, etc. If you don’t know how to write a resume, you can contact the UAF writing center for help! Their 30-minute tutoring sessions are free and open to anyone in the community. Visit https://uaf.edu/writing-center to set up an appointment.
